I’m excited to share a little insight into the behind the scenes of a brand photoshoot with Françoise Helene Poetry. Françoise was the lucky winner of my 4h brand photoshoot last year.
Here’s how it went.

Before the shoot
A couple of weeks before our shoot, we arranged a video call to meet and talk through her ideal customers, brand values and vision. We also discussed her brand questionnaire which she had filled out prior to our call.
Françoise grew up in Canada and always felt close to nature. She’s been using the arts to express herself from a young age. After traveling abroad for a few years, she settled in the UK where she developed her love for poetry. Françoise Helene Poetry was born. Her poetry is designed to help people gain confidence, educate the world of the value of holistic practices and show compassion to the world. She describes herself as an old soul, romantic and a daydreamer. She has a wide range of customers from people who are into mindfulness and spirituality to young adults who are looking to become more confident.
Her brand values evolve around freedom, wellbeing, kindness and authenticity.
It was clear to me that Françoise’s photos had to include nature, ooze mindfulness and calmness paired with some shots that sparked the idea of freedom. We also agreed to include flows dresses and fabrics and some of her writing materials as props.
The day of the shoot
We had scheduled the day on a pretty cold day but agreed to move forward on the morning of. Françoise bravely posed in dresses throughout the Old Royal Naval College grounds, as well as the Queen’s House in. Greenwich. We felt that the using these building as backdrops worked really well as it suited her “old soul” personality and reflected her passion and interest in history.

We decided to move the shoot to another location and chose the Canary Wharf rooftop which offers such a beautiful backdrop for nature inspired shoots as it gives the impression of being in the middle of a rainforest. Here, we focused on photos that communicated mindfulness, calm and healing.

Finally, when we got a little too cold, we spontaneously stumbled upon Every Day Cinemas in Canary Wharf. The interiors here are super fun and make a great backdrop + add a little colour to her otherwise more monotone colour palette and brand. Plus it gave us an opportunity to subtly include her writing props.

At this point, we had spent 4 lovely hours together and it was time to say goodbye.
After the shoot
I edited the photos from the shoot and Françoise received around 100 images which she has already started using across her social media helping her achieve a more cohesive look and attract her ideal clients.
Lovely feedback from Françoise:
I enjoyed my photoshoot with Tugce and I’d recommend you to book with her! Not only the photoshoot was fun time spent but I also felt very comfortable in her presence. We chatted about ideas beforehand which also really helped!
